Mrs. Wm. Huisman Passes On.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wm. Huisman (nee Hiltje Groot) were held Monday afternoon at the First Chr. Ref. church with Rev. J. B. Hulst officiating. Burial was made in the local cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral Service in charge. Mrs. Huisman passed away in the local hospital Friday evening, after a year's hospitalization.

Born in the Netherlands, Aug. 25, 1871, she came to America at the age of 14, settling in this vicinity. She was married to Wm. Huisman of Orange City in 1892. They were the parents of 11 children: Marie (Mrs. John Kiel), Nic Huisman, Elizabeth (Mrs. Tim Rens), Jake Huisman, Nell Huisman, Andrew, William and Anna (Mrs. Neal Jongerius), all of Orange City vicnity. Preceding in death are Mr. Huisman Sr., 3 years ago; two daughters: Mrs. Neal Klein and Mrs. John Hubers 5 years ago and 1 year, respectively; and one son, Herbert Huisman in March 1961. There are 51 grandchildTen and 118 great grandchildren, also three great great grandchildren. Three sisters survive: Mrs. Henry Haarsma, Mrs. C. Aalberts and Mrs. Arie Jonker, all of Orange City.
