Mrs. Martha Homan, 94, of Long Beach, California, formerly of Alton, died Jan. 1 in a hospital in Long Beach. Services and burial were Monday, Jan. 7 in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Homan, the former Martha Sanem, was born April 5, 1890, in Hospers. She married John P. Homan May 1, 1917, in Hospers. They farmed in the Alton area until moving to California in 1951. He died April 1954 in Long Beach.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorriane Shannon of Westminster, Calif.; three sons, Robert "Jim" of Long Beach, Francis "Dutch" of Alton and Alvin "Bud" of Sioux City; two sisters, Helen Pass of Los Angeles and Margaret Sanem of Cherokee; a brother, Ted of Sheldon; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Martha Homan, 94, of Long Beach, Calif., died Jan. 1 at a Long Beach hospital after a short illness. Services and burial were at Holy Cross Cemetery, Los Angeles, Calif., on Jan. 7, 1985.

Mrs. Homan, the former Martha Sanem, was born April 5, 1890, in O'Brien County. She married John P. Homan, May 1, 1917 at Hospers. They lived in the Alton area until 1951 when they moved to California. He died April 25, 1954.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Shannon of Westminster, Calif., and three sons, Robert of Long Beach, Calif., Francis (Dutch) Homan of Alton and Alvin (Bud) of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Pas of Los Angeles, Calif., and Margaret Sanem of Cherokee and one brother, Ted Sanem of Sheldon.
