Died on Friday evening September thirtieth at his home in Hartford SD. Frank Gillen at the age of thirty nine years of dropsy. He was born at Port Washington Wisconsin and lived there until eighteen years ago when he went into business at Hartford where he has conducted a general merchandise store ever since. He had been ailing for some time but was only bedfast a week.

His parents Mr. and Mrs. John Gillen of Alton who had gone there about a month ago to visit were at his bedside when death came. Besides his parents he leaves a wife and and son ten years of age, three brothers and four sisters to mourn his loss. Mrs. Mike Even and Miss Francis Gillen of Alton both sisters and Nic a brother from Hospers went there Saturday to attend the funeral which occurred there Sunday morning. Interment took place in Hartford. Mr. and Mrs. Gillen and Mrs. Even returned home Monday and Miss Gillen Thursday afternoon.
