Clara Valin, 69, died Feb. 11 at the home of her son, Lawrence Valin, in Des Moines. Services were held at Grandview Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Feb. 14. Rev. Clarence Leslie officiated. Burial was in Fjelberg Cemetery in Hurley, Iowa.

Clara Valin was born in Ireton, Jan. 2, 1907. She graduated from Ireton High School in 1925, and taught school north of Ireton for 5 years. She graduated from nurses training in Des Moines in 1933, and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the Grandview Lutheran Church and its Rachel Circle and the Ia. Luth. School of Nursing alumni Assn.

Survivors include her husband, Carl; and three sons, David and Lawrence of Des Moines, and Paul of Darbyville; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Durling of Jackson, Mich.; Mrs. Mildred Holzmueller and Mrs. Florence Johnson of Hawarden; two brothers, Earling Opdahl of Ireton and Lorentz Opdahl of Hawarden and four grandchildren.
