Passed Away: October 23, 1997; Orange City, Iowa
Age: 92 years, 6 months

Funeral Service: October 27, 1997, Calvary Christian Reformed Church, Orange City, Iowa
Interment: Hospers Cemetery, Hospers, Iowa
Grace Lena was the daughter of Riekle and Lena (Sels) Ganzevoort. She was raised at Hospers, where she graduated from high school. She also graduated from St. Luke's Lutheran Nursing School in Sioux City, where she became a registered nurse. She first cared for patients in their own homes. Later, she was a nurse at the Sheldon and Orange City hospitals.

On March 28,1933, she married Milton Leroy Toering at Hospers. They made their home at Hospers. He passed away September 13, 1962, at Sheldon. In 1965, she moved to Orange City.

Mrs. Toering was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where in earlier years, she had been active in the womens organizations. She was a former member of the Orange City Federated Womens Club.

Survivors include her three daughters, Retha and her husband, Robert J. De Boer, of Alton; Aldah and her husband, Jim Langenberg, of Greeley, Colorado; and Nadine Vande Berg of Orlando, Florida; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard; and a son-in-law, Harlan Vande Berg.
