Charles Smith son of Mrs. D. A. Smith died in the asylum at Cherokee last Saturday. He had been ailing with temporary fits of insanity for some time. He was interred in the Ireton Cemetery Rev. Ihrman conducting the services. We sympathize with the bereaved relatives.

(This is believed to be Charles A. Smith born abt. 1862 in Ohio to Edward F. Smith 1837 Ohio and Deborah Smith 1840 Ohio, other children were Rolla E. 13, Lucy M. 11, Essie 4, source 1880 census of Eden, Lincoln Co. So Dak. Also found in the 1900 census for Maurice IA, Deborah Smith age 60 living in Maurice born Aug 1839 Ohio, widowed married 1861, mother of 5 children 3 living at the time.
