Debra Lynn Van Surksum, 21, Doon, died Thursday evening in Marion Health Center, Sioux City, Iowa, from injuries she received in a one-car accident.

Debra Van Surksum was born June 8, 1964, in Sioux Center, Iowa. She graduated in 1982 from Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids, Iowa. In 1984, she graduated from the Stenotype Institute of South Dakota in Sioux Falls. In Oct. of 1984 she began working for Clark’s Court Recording in Sioux City.

She is survived by her parents: John and Jeanette Van Surksum, Doon; and two sisters: Dawn Van Surksum, and Susan Juffer, both of Doon.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Doon.
