Funeral services for Mr. C. C. (Cornelius) Schaap a resident of Hull fo 38 years, who died Wednesday, Sept 21, at the age of 88 years were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday September 23, at the Hull Chr. Ref. Church with Rev. J. C. Cupido of Hawarden officiating. Burial was in Hope cemetery.

Mr C. C. Schaap was born in the Netherlands on September 13, 1861. He came to the USA at the age of 6 years and settled near Ackley IA. He made confession of faith in 1882 at the Chr. Ref. church in Ackley.

He was married to Tryntje Bos who preceded him in death on March 2, 1931. This couple came to this community in April of 1911. To this union on child, namely Cornie, was born, who also preceded his father in death on March 22, 1942. Mr. Schaap leaves to mourn his only grand daughter, Kathleen, her husband James Byker and Mrs. Cornie Schaap, the son’s wife. The latter is in the hospital in Orange City.
