Sioux Center News, September 2, 1954

Funeral services for Mr. Eibert Bonestroo of Perkins will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Bert Bonestroo home at Perkins and 1:30 at the First Reformed church of Hull with Rev. Benjamin Ver Steeg officiating. Mr. Bonestroo broke his hip Saturday evening in a fall at the home of his son Bert, where he made his home, and passed away Monday evening.

Mr. Bonestroo was born in Gelderland, The Netherlands, February 22, 1857 and in 1889 he and his family came to America. They lived at Alton, Boyden and Hull. He was preceded in death by his wife and three children, Mary, Mrs. Bill Boeve, and two children died in infancy. He is survived by five sons: Tim of Bellflower, California; Andrew of Wilmar, Minn.; Bert, Ben and Henry, all of Hull, and is further survived by 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Services Held Friday For Aged Eibert Bonestroo

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept 3, for Eibert Bonestroo, 97, of Perkins, who died of complications brought on by a broken hip. Services will be held in the First Reformed church of Hull, with the Rev. Ver Steeg officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Hull. Mr. Bonestroo has been living in the Bert Bonestroo home at Perkins recently and has been a long time resident of Sioux County.
