Mr. Lloyd J. Bolks, age 70, of Sioux City, formerly of Hull, passed away Sunday, July 1, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.

Lloyd John was born August 16, 1913 at Algen, Michigan, the son of John Bolks and Ruth Weaver Bolks.

On May 29, 1936, he married Harretta Vande Berg at Sioux Center.

They farmed at Inwood until the early 1940's when they moved to Hull, where Lloyd was a mechanic at Oliver Garage. About 1945, he began working for Hymans Construction, where he became foreman of the gravel crew. In 1962, he started operating his own gravel truck, retiring in 1970.

Mrs. Bolks passed away March 10, 1972.

In 1977, Lloyd moved to Sioux City. He was a member of the American Reformed Church of Hull.

Survivors include his twin sons, Ronald J. of Wyoming, Michigan; and Roger B. of Sioux Center; his daughter, Joyce M. of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; two brothers, Harold and Alfred both of Hull, and five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Hazel) De Boer of Hull; Mrs. Henry (Esther) Kooiker of Bellflower, Calif.; Mrs. Charles (Lavonne) Kroese, Jr. of Hull; Mrs. George (Irma) Derr of Fullerton, Calif., and Mrs. Kenneth (Viola) Geurkink of Long Beach, Calif.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bolks was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth and Mildred.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 4, at the American Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Herman Van Galen officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
