Boeyink, Mrs. Gerrit (Magdaleine Maria) - 1871-1941

Sioux Center News, March 13, 1941

The community was shocked by the sudden death of Mrs. Gerrit Boeyink from a heart attach Monday evening, March 10th at her home. She passed away within a short time after the attack occurred in the presence of her husband and son Harold.

Magdaleine Maria De Pree Boeyink was the daughter of Rev. & Mrs. James De Pree. Her father was the pioneer pastor of the first church to be established in this community.

She was born in Spring Lake, Mich., July 3, 1871, and at ten moved with her parents to Sioux Center. She graduated from Northwestern Academy and married Gerrit Boeyink, Dec. 27, 1899. Four children were born to this union namely, Mrs. M. L. Nobel (Joan)of Minneapolis; Mrs. Anthony Hasselo (Elsie) of Orange City, and Harold of Sioux Center. Gertrude preceded her in death in April 1917. One grandchild, Warner Nobel, also survives, besides one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 o'clock at the home and 2 o'clock from Central Reformed Church with Rev. R. Meengs officiating. Interment will be in the local cemetery.
