Mrs. Bessie Boller of Beresford, who lived in Hawarden for a number of years, died in the home of her son, Eugene Boller, at Beresford last Wednesday, June 5, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church in Beresford last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Cora Rummel, Mrs. Fred Vernon, Mrs. Seal Van Sickle and Mrs. A. D. Horton of Hawarden attended the funeral.

Bessie Yorker was born near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and had attained the age of 67 years at the time of her death. Her mother died when she was nine years of age. When she was 12 years, she came to Beresford with her father and her step-mother. She received most of her education at Beresford and engaged in the profession of teaching. While teaching near Hawarden she met and married Fred Boller, who operated a barber shop in Hawarden.

She and her husband went to Beresford about 45 years ago and there Mr. Boller served as postmaster. After the death of her husband she was elected register-of-deeds of Union county. Later she held a state office at Pierre, SD. Mr. Boller was a nephew of Ben Rummel of Hawarden.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene of Beresford and Shirley of Yankton, SD; one brother, Walter Yorker of Los Angeles, Calif. and two granddaughters.
