Marie J. Dykstra, 77 of Sioux Center died Wednesday, June 29 at her home. Services were held Saturday in the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. The Rev. Dr. John Hulst officiated. Burial was in West Holman Cemetery at Sibley under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mrs. Dykstra, the former Marie Verbrugge, was born April 20, 1911. She lived her youth in Leota, Minn. And attended school at District 87 Murray County, Minn. She married Renza J. Dykstra Nov. 30 1945 in Sibley. The couple lived on a farm near Sibley, Moving into Sioux Center in 1965. Mr. Dykstra died in Jan. 1983. Mrs. Dykstra was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux City.

Survivors include Lorraine Slagter of Prinsburg, Minn. And Evelyn Elgersma of Sioux Falls, SD.; two brothers, James of Leota, Minn. and Nick of Orange City; four sisters, Grace Vander Lught and Nellie Christian, both of Edgerton, Minn., Hattie Vedders of Pease, Minn. and Alice Van Schapen of Ireton; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
