Dora (Bekman) Corbin, age 81, of Ottumwa died on Feb. 1 at a nursing home there. Graveside services and interment was held on Feb. 4 at Ottumwa.

She was born in Alton on Oct. 19, 1902, the daughter of the late John and Kate Bekman. She attended school in Alton and was a graduate of Alton High School. She also was a graduate of the University of Iowa in the field of nursing. In June, 1924, she was married to Dr. R. L. Corbin. She, with her husband, spent their early years together at Norway and Luverne, Iowa. In the 1940s they moved to St. Paul, Minn., and in the 1950s to Seattle, Wash., where Dr. Corbin was associated with the Veteran's Administration at both places.

In June, 1964, Dora was the victim of a hit-run pedestrian accident on a Seattle street and was very severely injured, spending several months in a hospital there and never fully recovered from her injuries. Following that her brother, the late Elmer Bekman, also of Ottumwa, assisted them in moving to Ottumwa for further care. Some years later both Dora and her husband moved to the nursing home there where he died on June 14, 1980. They had no children.

Surviving are one niece, Louise (Bekman) Loreu of Columbus, Ohio, two grand nephews and one grand niece and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
