Mrs. Gerrit Vande Stouwe. 82, was dead on arrival at a Rock Rapids hospital Friday, July 24. after suffering a heart attack while fishing in the Rock Rapids area.

Services were at 1 p.m. Monday at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with the Rev. A. Vergunst officiating. Burial was followed at the Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley.

The former Susie Van Den Top was born Jan. 1. 1900 in The Netherlands. She married Gerrit Vande Stouwe Feb. 27. 1924 at Inwood, Iowa. The couple moved to Rock Valley in 1961. Mr. Vande Stouwe passed away Oct. 1, 1974. There was a family visitation Sunday evening at the Porter Funeral Home.

Survivors include four sons, Jake of Hull, William of Inwood, Gerrit J. of Rock Valley, and Clarence of Ahaloma, Cal.; one daughter, Mrs. Albert'(Alice) Bakker of Doon; two brothers, John and Tom of Rock Valley; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Hoefakker of Inwood; nine grandchildren and five great-grand children.
