Clarence Tinklenberg was born July 19, 1905 at Belmond, Iowa. On November 20, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mathilda Te Grootenhuis at Newkirk. Mr. Tinklenberg died October 4, 1969. Mr. and Mrs. Tinklenberg lived in the Hospers vicinity all their married life. He served on the consistory at the Newkirk Reformed Church and was an elder in the Hospers Reformed Church at the time of his death. He also served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sister: Dick Tinklenberg of Pipestone, Minnesota, Ed Tinklenberg of Leota, Minnesota; and Mrs. Martha Ten Cate of Edgerton, Minnesota. Four brothers preceded him. He is also survived by the following Stepbrothers and Stepsisters: Maggie, Mrs. John Uittenbogaard of Seattle, Washington: Mince Oordt of Hospers; Anna, Mrs. Wm. Harkema of South Holland, Illinois, Jake Oordt of Sioux Center, and Gertie, Mrs. Ed Vermeer of Sioux Center. One Stepbrother preceded him.

Clarence Tinklenberg was born July 19, 1905, at Belmond, Iowa to Simon and Jennie Tinklenberg. On November 20, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mathilda Te Grootenhuis at Newkirk. Mr. Tinklenberg died October 4, 1969 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sisters: Dick Tinklenberg of Pipestone, Minnesota, Ed Tinklenberg of Leota, Minnesota and Mrs. Martha Ten Cate of Edgerton, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Tinklenberg lived in the Hospers vicinity all their married life. He served on the consistory at the Newkirk Reformed Church and was an elder in the Hospers Reformed Church at the time of his death. He also served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a former Mayor of Hospers.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M. in the Hopers First Reformed Church on Tuesday, October 7, 1969, with the Reverend M. Tysen officiating. Mrs. Mildred Riemersma was the organist. Special music was provided by the church choir, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” and “My Jesus as Thou Wilt.” Casket bearers were Marvin Tinklenberg, Gary Tinklenberg, Jake Kruisselbrink, Willard Te Grootenhuis, Harold Helder and Andrew Reitsma. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery with Vander Ploeg’s in charge of arrangements.
