Syje Jacobsma who died at his home Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock suffered a heart attack the previous evening.

He was born in the Netherlands on August 9, 1873 and came to America with his parents at the age of 18. They resided in Chicago for a short time before moving to a farm north of Orange City. At the age of 21 he married Miss Frederick Woertink and to this union seven children were born, namely , (Jennie) Mrs. Neal Houtsma of Boyden; Horton of Hospers; Henry of near Boyden; (Dora) Mrs. Andrew Vander Burg of Hospers; Clarence of Hospers, and (Mabel) Mrs. Bernard Voss of Knoxville; one child died in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacobsma lived on a farm seven miles northwest of here for the past 27 years but this spring moved to the small farm west of town.

He is survived by the widow, six children, and a number of Grandchildren, also by three brothers Henry and Ruit of Orange City and Simon of Sibley. Funeral services were held Friday, with services at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o’clock in the Christian Reformed church with Rev. Gritters of Rock Valley and Rev. Wm Bajsma of Sheldon officiating . Interment was at the cemetery west of town
