John D. Dykstra, 89, of Maurice, died Monday May 16, at Heritage House in Orange City. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at First Reformed Church in Maurice with the Rev. Ken Westrate officiating. Burial was in Sherman Township Cemetery at Maurice.

Mr. Dykstra was born February 12, 1899 in Orange City and attended Orange City Christian School. He Married Gertrude Vander Mei October 21, 1916 in Carnes. The couple lived in the Maurice and Ireton area. She died August 29, 1968. He was a member of First Reformed church of Maurice.

Survivors include two sons, Henry of Sioux Center and John of Long Beach, California; two daughters, Matilda Chambers of Bellflower, California and Gertrude Taylor of Flagstaff, Arizona; 20 grandchildren; and 30 Great-grandchildren
