Jurry Van Der Zwaag
Mr. Jurry Van Der Zwaag, age 77, of Middleburg, passed away Tuesday, March 30 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg, with the Rev. Jeffrey Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Capel township Cemetery, near Middleburg, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Jurry was born May 20, 1915 at Middleburg, the son of Ben E. and Annie (Dykstra) Van Der Zwaag. On March 27, 1941 he married Pauline Arta Mouw at Middleburg. From September of 1942 to November of 1945, he served in the United States Army in the European Theatre of World War II. Mr. and Mrs. Van Der Zwaag farmed in the Boyden area until 1976, when they moved into Middleburg.
He was a lifetime member of the Free Grace Reformed Church, where he had been active for many years. He was also a member of Pressman- Rosters Post 329 of the American Legion at Orange City.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Darlene and her husband, George Beach of Stewartyille, Minnesota; son, Ben J. Van Der Zwaag and his wife, Grace of Boyden; nine grandchildren, Van, Jennifer; and Katie Beach, and Jerad, Cara, Bradley, Andrew, Tony, and Steven Van Der Zwaag; sister, Ann Muilenburg of Orange City; and brother, Elmer Van Der Zwaag of Orange City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Van Der Zwaag; and two sisters, Ellen Keizer and Susan Van Der Zwaag.
