Death claimed the life of 19 year old Miss Wilhelmina Meendering, on Wednesday night of last week. October 15th, only a few hours after she was run over by a corn wagon in
the field, Wednesday afternoon. The girl, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Meendering died of internal injuries at the Hull Hospital, where she had been taken following the accident.
The Meendering girls had been helping their father pick corn. Wilhelmina was picking at the lead wagon and the team which was following became frightened and ran away. The girl could not get out of the way in time and was crushed beneath the wheels of the heavily loaded wagon.

The injured girl was rushed by ambulance to the local hospital and died at about 8:30 P.M. She suffered a ruptured heart and punctured lungs. The accident happened on the Meendering farm north and east of Carmel. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the First Reformed Church at Rock Valley.
