Mrs. Elise Moser of San Diego Calif., passed away at 9 o'clock on Thursday evening at the home of his brother, E. A. Lindenman in Ireton following a stroke which she suffered
on Monday of last week. Mrs. Moser had been in failing health for some time and she desired to return to Ireton to see her old friends so she and her daughter, Mrs. Mary Kuehnsted came to Ireton about five weeks ago. Mrs. Kuehnsted returned to her home in California while Mrs. Moser decided to remain in Ireton. After the noon meal July 22nd she suffered the stroke her entire right side being affected. She never fully regained consciousness after she suffered the last stroke and she grew weaker gradually until death claimed her.

Elise Lindenman, eldest daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Pluss Lindenman was born Sept. 5, 1863, in Teufenthal Kanton Aargan, Switzerland, It was there that she grew to young womanhood, attending the public schools and later the district high school at Unter Kulm. She was the eldest of seven children, one brother and a sister, dying in infancy in Switzerland. In February 1878, her father came to America settling at Prairie City, Mo., and liking the new country and seeing its possibilities for his children, he sent for his wife and family of five children.

They arrived the latter part of June, 1878. In 1879 she was united in marriage to Peter Moser and to this union were born four children, Fred of Windom, Minn., Albert of Vet-million, S. D., Will who passed away after suffering fatal burns at Platte, S. D., Mrs. Mary Kuehnsted of San Diego, Calif. Her husband preceded her in death in February, 1926. After her marriage they farmed several years in Bates and Vernon counties, Mo. Later they moved to Shell City in Vernon county where Mr. Moser was foreman in a large dairy.

They came to Iowa in 1893 and lived on the Tarbox farm, west of Ireton later they
moved onto a farm which they purchased, three miles west of town, which is now owned by G. L. Houlton. Later they sold the farm and moved to Ireton. Their daughter having moved to California, they visited there and finally purchased a fine home in San Diego.

They returned to Sioux county several times to visit while living in the west. Mrs. Moser's health began to fail about several years ago and she suffered two strokes within a year and
was critically ill for weeks. She rallied, however, and was again able to be up and her wish was to return to her former home for a visit, which she did several weeks ago and death claimed her while here on this visit. Besides her three children she is survived by two brothers, E. A. and J. A. Lindenman of Ireton. Two sisters passed away after moving to this country. Caroline died at the age of 10 in St. Clair, Mo., and Emma passed away at the age of 19 while she lived near here. She also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Moser was beloved by all who knew her. She was a good wife and
mother, who always had the best interests of her family at heart. She
was a Christian in deed and fact as her
neighbors and friends all know. She with her husband united with St
Paul's Lutheran church in Ireton more than 25 years ago and until her
removal to California was always active in church work. She served as
president of the Ladies' Aid and was active in all church work. Later
she transferred her membership to San Diego where she took her stand
in support of everything Christian.
