Dale E. Gould, 62, of Hawarden,died Thursday, August 28, 1986, in a Hawarden hospital after a brief illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday,September 2, at American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Robert Hansen officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Larry Bergdale, Lindsay Bergdale, Bruce Waterman,Dan Waterman, Scott R. Younie and Wilbur Bos.
Mr. Gould was born Nov. I8, 1923, in Kimball, SD. He attended grade school in Verdel, NE, moved to Hawarden in 1938 and graduated from Hawarden High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Emily Lundeen on January 10,1948, in Sergeant Bluff. The couple lived in the Sioux City area before moving to Hawarden in 1961. He owned and operated Dale Appliance in Hawarden until retiring due to poor health in 1985.
He was a member of American Lutheran Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagle's Lodge in Hawarden.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Cynthia) Andela of Hawarden and Mrs. Don (Renee) Hansen of Tempe, AZ; one sister, Mrs. Russell (Lois) Bergdale of Hawarden; and three grandchildren.
