James Franken, 57, of Canton, S.D., who died Saturday, Sept. 17 at the McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, after a short illness. He was married to Margaret Van Dyk of Inwood, a sister of Mrs. Warren Kleinwolterink of Orange City.

Surviving are his widow, 3 sons and 2 daughters and several grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the Lutheran Church of Canton. Burial was in the Inwood, la., Cemetery
