Schreier, Margaretha, Mrs. William, 1862 or 63-1914

Mrs. William Schreier passed away at her home south of Alton on Friday night of last week. She had been a long and patient sufferer of cancer and death came as a relief. Deceased was born in Germany on May 10, 1862. At the age of three she came with her parents to the United States and in March 1887 she became a Sioux county resident. On April 26, 1887, she was united in marriage to Wm. Schreier, at Alton, Iowa. This union was blessed with twelve children, ten of whom survive.

The funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic church on Sunday. The services were conducted by Very Rev. F. J. Brune. Intermant was made in St. Mary's cemetery.

The surviving children are: Mrs. Katherine Miller of Alton, John of Remsen, and Helena, Willie, Joseph, Margareta, Frank, Jacob, Anna and Bernard at home. She is also survived by a brother and a sister.

The following came from a distance to attend the funeral: Mrs. Mina Frich of Dubuque, Michael Schreier of Dell Rapids, S.D., Miss Susie Schreier of Slayton, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Games of LeMars.
