CARL TANK

Funeral services for Carl Tank, 52, life long resident of Plato and Garfield townships, will be held today (Thursday) at 1 o'clock from the Van De More funeral home at Hudson, S.D., and at 2 o'clock from the Peace Lutheran church. The Rev. A. Kaupins will officiate.

Mr. Tank was born May 14, 1910 and died Friday, April 19, following a lengthy illness, at McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls. He had been a member of Peace Lutheran church all his life.

He was married May 19, 1957 to Vernetta Anderson of Hudson who survives him. He is also survived by one brother, Richard of Garfield.

Services for Carl Tank, 51, being held today

Funeral servicess for Carl Tank, 51, who died at a Sioux Falls hospital April 29 after a lingering illness, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Van De More funeral home at Hudson, S.D., and at 2 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran church south of Rock Valley. Rev. Alfred Kaupins will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Wiebersick, Willie Davelaar, Vincent Strubbe, John Bauman, Howard Detlie, and George Bail. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Nelson, Clarence Koerner, Carl Rau, and Edward Rau.

Mr. Tank was born in Sioux county and farmed there most of his life.

Survivors include the widow, Vernetta; one brother, Richard and one nephew, Verlyn, both of Rock Valley; two stepsons, Richard Anderson of Rock Valley and William Anderson of Omaha, Neb.; and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Roger Evanson of Hudson, S.D.

Probate notices say that he was also known as Carl J. Tank and Karl Tank (Rock Valley Bee, June 7, 1962). An estate sale notice lists the farm machinery he owned at the time of his death (Hawarden Independent, Sept. 20, 1962).
