Mrs. Eigbert Den Herder passed away at her home near Valley Springs, South Dakota early Monday morning March 1, 1943. She had been ill for several months due to heart trouble and complications.

Survivors include the husband Mr. Eigbert Den Herder and seven children: Henry of Valley Springs; Mattie Mrs. Jake Mieras of Maurice; Albert, Ralph and Gerrit all of Valley Springs; Gertie Mrs. Albert Millis of Valley Springs, and Winnie Mrs. Alvin Goos of Sioux Falls and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon March 3, 1943 at tht First Reformed church at Valley Springs with Rev. Hoksenberger officiating.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jake Den Herder who passed away several years ago and Ed Den Herder who passed away last July. The Den Herder family lived in this vicinity for many years and have lived near Valley Springs for the last ten years.
