Henry Herweyer, 79, Hawarden, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000 at Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.
Memorial service was Saturday at the Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memory Garden Cemetery, Sioux Center.
Porter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Henry Herweyer was born July 14,1921 in Sioux County, Iowa near Fairview, S.D., to James and Henrietta (Vander Van) Herweyer. He grew up on a farm near Sioux Center and Hawarden. He moved to Grand Rapids, Mich, in 1949 where he was employed in a factory. He married Rose Skibbs on June 25, 1955 in Jennison, Mich, They moved ;to Lakeland, Fla. in 1978. She died April 14,1995. He moved back to Hawarden after her death.
Surviving relatives include two stepsons; Ed Skibbe and Otto Skibbe both of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Bill Herweyer of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sisters, Margaret Hubers of Orange City, Ann Brommer of Sioux Center and Henrietta Daale of Hawarden; brother-in-law, Case Bleeker of Sioux Center; sister-in-law, Joey Herweyer of Sioux Center; six stepgrandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-
great-grandchildren.
