Dick Herwynen Passes Away At Pioneer Home ORANGE CITY—
Mr. Dick Herwynen passed away on Saturday, January 2 at 1:40 o'clock at the Pioneer Home where he had been making his home for over a year. He was a son of Ella Vander Hoef and Arnoldus Herwynen,
He was born on April 4, 1876 at Pella IA and passed away at the age of 66 years and several months. He came to Orange City at the age of five years and Spent the remainder of his life around Orange City. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Ella, Mrs. Mike Heurtz of LeMars; Etta, Mrs. Jim Zorgdrager of Merrill. One sister Ida Mrs. Nick-Roghair preceded him in death a few years ago; five brothers, Ike and Arnold Herwynen of Orange City. Abraham Van Steenwyk and Arnold Van Steenwyk of LeMars, Wm. Van Steenwyk of Orange-City, and one sister Betty who died in infancy,
Herwynen has been ailing for about four months. He underwent an 'operation in Rochester about ten weeks ago and has been confined to his bed most of the time since the-operation.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock at the Pioneer Home and at 1:30 o'clock at the First Reformed Church with Rev. Henry Colenbrander officiating. In tennent was made in the Orange City cemetery.
