Mrs. Jeanette Den Hartog, age 66, of Orange City, died Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Jeanette was born June 1, 1923, at Orange City, the daughter of Martin De Jager and Gertrude Siebersma De Jager. On Aug. 14, 1946 she married Clarence Den Hartog at Orange City. "Jackie" was a lifelong resident of Orange City. She was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, where in earlier years she had been active in various organizations.
Survivors include her husband; six children, Jane and her husband Fred Krommendyk, Dennis and his wife Sharon, Marcia and her husband Terry Arends, Becky and her husband Curt Vogel and Donna, all of Orange City, and Shirley of Sioux Center; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Lucy Ennema and Etta De Jong, both of Orange City; Harriet Wassenaar of Redlands, Calif.; and her twin, Elizabeth and her husband Albert Dykstra of LeMars; and a brother, Steven De Jager and his wife Dena of Sheldon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kimberly Krommendyk and a sister, Grace De Vos.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Calvary Christian Reformed Church. with Pastor Jack Gray officiating,. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman- Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
