Elizabeth Alons, 83, died Sunday evening in the Sheldon Nursing Wing.Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church, Hospers. Rev. Jelmer Groenewold will officiate. Burial will be in the Hospers Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mrs. Alons, the former Elizabeth Uittenbogaard, was born Dec. 23, 1899, in the Netherlands. She married Louis Alons, Feb. 9, 1922, at Hospers. They farmed near Hospers until 1954 when they retired to Orange City. He died Jan. 9, 1968 and she moved to Hospers at that time. During the last three years she had lived at the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon, Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull and most recently in the Sheldon Nursing Wing.

Mrs. Alons was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hospers and a former member of the Priscilla Society of the church. Survivors include three sons, Arthur of Sheldon, Daniel of Hospers and Bernard of Las Cruces, N.M.; two daughters, Mrs. Arie (Mary) Van Vuuren of Lakewood, Calif., and Mrs. Rudolph (Magdalene) Meyer of Sioux Center; two brothers, Gerrit of Sheldon and John of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. William (Grace) Kreykes of Primghar; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, two children Mary and Bernard, and one granddaughter
