Isaac Vander Sluis of this city was shocked Monday night to learn of the sudden death of his father at the farm home near Maurice. He had been helping butcher and toward evening complained of feeling had. He became unconscious and died near midnight. He was fifty six years old and leaves a wife and two sons.
(The deceased was Cornelis Vander Sluis born 15 Nov 1842 Poortugaal, Zuid Holland Neth. Died last day or two of 1902 at Maurice IA. Wife was Natonette Van Gorkum 1847-1931 They are both buried in Sherman Tsp. Cemetery Maurice IA. Isaac 1867-1911 was one of the sons.)
