Mrs. Johnson of Alcester Dies at Hospital Here
Mrs. Ed S. Johnson, 64, of Alcester died last Saturday [August 9] at the Hawarden hospital from a heart ailment.
Tillie Tunnell, a daughter of a Union county pioneer couple, was born and spent all her life in the Alcester vicinity. She was married to Ed S. Johnson for over 43 years. Although Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had retired, they continued to live on their farm.
Survivors include the widower; two sons, Melvin of Alcester and Glenn of Elk Point; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Broline and Mrs. Selma Numsen of Alcester; two brothers, Chas. Tunnell of Alcester and Oscar of Fairview, S.D.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Nathaneal Lutheran church at Alcester. Mrs. Minnie Johnson and Mrs. F. E. Hansen of Hawarden attended the funeral.
