Born: April 7, 1904, Sioux Center, Iowa
Died: November 8, 1986, Sioux Center, Iowa
Services: The First Reformed Church, Sioux Center, Iowa, November 11, 1986.
Mr. Art Vande Berg passed away Saturday morning in Sioux Center at the age of 82 years. On
September 1, 1934, in Sioux Center he was united in marriage to Wilmina Vande Berg who
preceded him in death on June 2,1973. On May 10, 1975, he was united in marriage to Henrietta
Beernink who now survives.
He is also survived by the following children and stepchildren: Duane Vande Berg of Sioux City; Paul Vande Berg of Spencer; Shirley, Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Plymouth, Minnesota; and Warren Vande Berg of Marquette, Michigan. Stepsons are Eugene Beernink of Sioux Center; Darrell Beernink of Normal, Illinois; and Howard Beernink of Sioux Center.
He is also survived by two sisters, Gertie Van Beek of Westfield, North Dakota; Jennie
Dykshoorn of Sioux Center; ten grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and three stepgreat-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle; four brothers and one
sister. Art served his community and church in many ways through the years. He was treasurer
of the Community School Board, member of the Mutual Telephone Co. Board of Directors, and
was an active member of the First Reformed Church where he served as elder, deacon and
choir director for many years. His passing is mourned by his many friends and relatives.
