Otto Huizenga
Otto Huizenga, 88, passed away on July 13, in Denver, Colo. A burial service will be
held on Friday, August 3, at noon at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Shelter "A," and a memorial gathering hosted after the service at his residence's penthouse at 4570 E. Yale Ave #304, Denver Colorado 80222.
Otto was born on January 3, 1924, in Orange City, the son of Jake Huizenga and Agnes DeVries.
Otto served in the U.S. Navy in World War II (1943 through 1946) attaining a rate of Coxswain Third Class. He retired in 1983 from Colgate-Palmolive after a long career in sales. Otto was a long-time volunteer at numerous organizations, including Denver International Airport Travelers Assistance and the Visiting Nurses Association.
He is survived by his sons Dirk of Denver and Karl of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law Sarah; three grandchildren James Travis, Landry Grace and Harper Lee; and brother George of Orange City. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Lee Huizenga.
