Reyer was the son of Lammert and Mary (Willemsen) Rens. He was raised in the Hull area.
On May 15, 1941, he married Margaret Hoogland at Middleburg. She passed away August 18, 1954, at Alton. On March 25, 1960, he married Marlys Scholten at Alton. She passed away October 28,1981, in Sioux City. On December 26,1990, he married Luella (Pyle) Kammeraad
in Little Rock. Roy farmed in the Siouxland area most of his life. He was well known for raising and selling Chester White hogs for fifty years. He was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where he had attended Men's Brotherhood.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jacob Rens and his wife, Sharon, of Boring, Oregon; five daughters and their husbands, Grace and Dick Thomas of Pella; Margaret and Bob Schelling of Orange City; Barbara and Paul Bettes of Sparta, Michigan; Ruth and Ned Weitgenant of Hills,
Minnesota; and Carol and Jeff De Young of Chenango Forks, New York; a son-in-law, Gordon Nyhof of Gresham, Oregon; three step-sons, Bill Kammeraad of Hartford, Connecticut; Robert Kammeraad and his wife Kathleen, of Middlelown, Connecticut; and Gary Kammeraad and his
wife, Natalie, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerrit Rens of Hull; and John Rens of Rock Rapids.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brendine Nyhof; a brother. Bill Rens; and two sisters, Angeline Zoet and Johanna Kuyper.
