Roy Searle, 81, of Hawarden, died Oct. 5. in a Hawarden nursing home.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9 in the Community Reformed Church. The Rev. Robert Wallinga officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Searle was born May 23, 1895 near Hawarden. He served overseas during World War I. He was a member of the Community Reformed Church and the Hawarden post of the American Legion.

Survivors include a brother, James of Portland, Ore.; nieces and nephews.
