Tim Wade Van Dis, 13, of Rock Valley, died Friday, July 16 in the University of Iowa hospital of brief illness.

Services were at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Roger Voskull officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under direction of the Porter Funeral Home. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Van Dis home.

He was born Jan. 22, 1969 and was a student in the Rock Valley public schools.

He is survived by his parents, Harlan and Clare Van Dis of Rock Valley; three brothers, Tom, Jon and Reid and one sister, Leigh, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Van Otterloo of Rock Valley and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Van Dis of Valley Springs, S.D.
