Martha Elizabeth Van Eldik, age 95, of Holland, Michigan, formerly of Rock Valley, died Wednesday, September 13, 1995 at Holland Health Care Center at Holland, Michigan. Funeral service was Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley. Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiated. Visitation was Friday at the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley.

Martha was born February 22, 1900 at LeMars, IA. She was the daughter of Robert and Anna (Wiersma) Hiemstra. Martha married Dick Van Eldik March 9, 1920 at Rock Valley. Together they lived at Rock Valley. Dick died April 6, 1959. Martha moved to Resthaven Retirement Home at Holland, Michigan in 1983.

Surviving relatives include one daughter and her husband, Betty and John Brunsting of Hudsonville, Michigan; one son and his wife, Dr. Dick and Carol Van Eldik of Lake Worth, Florida; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rena Van Eldik of Rock Valley, IA; two brother-in-laws, Gerrit Harmelink of Stromsburg, Nebraska, and David Lieux of Miami, Florida.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; daughter, Ruth Annette Van Eldik.
