Major Jones, reinterrment notice 1882

The veterans of Sioux county have fixed May 16 as the day on which the remains of Major Jones* will be re-interred in the Pattersonville cemetery*. He died several years ago and lies buried on section 16 of Lincoln township. He was a stranger here and received only such interment as the limited means of our early settlers allowed. Our soldiers have therefore determined to re-inter his dust with ceremonies befitting his rank.
