John Van Dokkumburg, 76, died on Friday, March 11, at Hegg Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Services were held on March 14 at the Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. William Suyker officiating. Burial was in Valley View cemetery.

Mr. Van Dokkumburg was born in Friesland, The Netherlands, on March 17, 1900. He came to America as a young man and settled in Canada for a few years before moving to the United States. He married Gertrude Bakker Koenen on March 18, 1946, at Luverne, Minnesota. He was employed at Farmers Lumber Company for many years.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Edith) Troff of Hull; one stepson, Gerrit Koenen, of Hawarden; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Clarence (Jennie) Hanzen of Inwood, Mrs. Sidney (Marie) Grossenburg of Rock Valley and Mrs. Nester (Albertha) Schenk of Sioux Center; and 16 grandchildren.
