Mr. Clarence Bleeker, aged 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011. He was preceded in death by a grandaughter, Lauren Van Der Waal, six brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 58 years F. Alyda Bleeker; his children, Gary and Gerry Bleeker, Linda and Clayton DeVires, David and Mary Beth Bleeker, James and Lisa Bleeker, Mark and Laura Bleeker, Laurie and Hank Van der Waal, Steven Bleeker; 27 Grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Berdena Grady; and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Bleeker honorably served in the U. S. Army and was a retiree of Michigan National Bank where he served as a Vice President. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10. a.m. at the Netherlands Reformed Church of Grqand Rapids, 1255 Covell N.W. with Rev. C. Vogelaar officiating. Interment will be in Fairplains Cemetery. Mr. Bleeker reposes at the Heritage Life Story Funeral HOme, Van Strien - Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield N.E. where relatives and friends may meet his family Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to either Faith Hopsice or Plymouth Christian Schools Foundation would be appreciated.
