Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 23, from the First Reformed Church in Hull for Herbert Van Kley, 76, who died at his home in Perkins, December 19, following a brief illness.

Rev. N. Rozeboom officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery, under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Service of Sioux Center.

Mr. Van Kley was born in South Holland, Ill., September 5, 1881, the son of Florus Van Kley and Pieterje Huisman. He was united in marriage to Johanna Poppen in January 1904. She preceded him in death August 15, 1919.

To this union the following children were born: Floyd of Bellflower, CA; Harriet (Mrs. Russell Mouw) of Osakis, MN; Angeline (Mrs. Hugo Van Binsbergen) Quincy, WA; Albert of Grand Rapids, MI; Clarissa (Mrs. Tony Attema) of Denver, CO. There are 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Van Kley married Tena Evink, September 6, 1939. To this union one son, Herbert Allan, was born.

Also surviving are two brothers, William and Art, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Blankenspoor and Mrs. Maggie Achterhof.
