(Last name in the obit is spelled Van Ginkle, however, their stone in the cemetery has it spelled Van Ginkel).

Rock Valley - Funeral services for Mrs. Evert Van Ginkle were held at the Neth. Ref. Church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. John Van Zweden officiating. Burial in Valley View Cemetery.

She passed away about 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 24 of a heart attack.

Gertie Van Donkelaar was born June 12, 1877 in Holland. She married Evert Van Ginkle in Holland in 1899 and came to America in 1901. They first settled at Pella, Iowa next moved to Crookston, Minn., then to Sioux Center and in 1910 moved to this vicinity where they farmed for many years before moving into Rock Valley.

Two children preceded her in death, Johnny Van Ginkle and Mrs. John De Wit. Seven children surrvive her: John Van Ginkle near Inwood; Mrs. John Koedom, Rock Valley; William Van Ginkle, Rock Valley; Mrs. H. Koedam, Larchwood; Henry Van Ginkle, Rock Valley; Mrs. P. Hoogendoorn and Ed Van Ginkle, Bellflower, Calif. There are 31 grandchildren and two great grand children. One sister, Mrs. Chris Jansen of Rock Valley and two sisters and one brother in Holland survives her.
