Bert Hendriks, 71, of Sheldon, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1988 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center of Sheldon.

Services were 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16 at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church of Sheldon with Rev. Bernie Haan officiating. Interment was in East Lawn Cemetery under the directions of the Andringa Funeral Home of Sheldon.

Pall bearers were: Bill Vreeman, Ralph Bootsma, John Rens, Claude Boender, Gerrit Van Bruggen and John Boender.

Bert Hendriks, son of John & Anna Hendriks, was born August 25, 1916 in Rock Valley. He lived his youth and attended school at Rock Valley.

He married Zeena Postma of Hull on June 12, 1941 at Sioux City. Following their marriage they lived at Sheldon.

Survivors include his wife, Zeena; two sons, Bruce Hendriks of Nashville, Ten., and Dough Hendriks of Boulder, CO; four grandchildren; two brothers Dick Hendriks of Orange City and John Hendriks of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Willemina Kempema of Hudsonville, MI and Jurena (Mrs. Earl) Long of Greeley, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
