William J. Ter Horst, 76, of Orange City was dead on arrival at a hospital in Orange City Saturday, March 7. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 in First Reformed Church in Orange City, the Rev. Cecil Martens officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.

Ter Horst was born November 29, 1910 at Orange City. He married Henrietta Plender September 1, 1932., at Orange City. The couple farmed at Orange City. She died January 6, 1970, at Orange City. In 1971, he retired into town. On December 1, 1972, he married Matilda Bloemendaal at Orange City. Ter horst was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Arthur of Orange City and Stanley of Sioux Falls; two daughters Margene Van Zanten and Gerl Kraai, both of Rock Valley; a stepson, Larry Bloemendaal of Alton; three step daughters, Connie Menning of Alton, Barbara Top of Orange City and Ardis Van Rooyen of Alden; two sisters, Marie Vander Maaten and Wilmina Ter Horst both of Orange City; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
