Harriet J. Sitter
BOYDEN, Iowa — Harriet Joyce Sitter; 64, of Boyden died Wednesday,
Nov. 18, 1992, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., after a short illness.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Reformed Church in Boyden, with the Rev. Mark Volkers officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Township Cemetery. Arrangements at Vander
Ploeg Funeral Home in Boyden.
Mrs. Sitter was born July 20,1928, in Springfield, S.D., the daughter of Theodore and Johanna (Heusinkveld) Abma. She moved to Sioux Center as a child with her family. On Aug. 23, 1949, she married Chester Arnold "Chuck" Sitter at Sioux Center. The couple made their home in Boyden. Mrs. Sitter was a member of the First Reformed Church.
Survivors include her husband two daughters and their husbands Karen and Patrick Phinney of Wes Concord, Minn., and Sandra an Gary Wegter of Hull; six grandchildren, Andrea and Scott Phinney an Missy, Teri, Ginny and Colby Wegter; two sisters and their husbands, Josephine and Gradus Verrips of Sioux Center and Gladys and Gary Verrips of Boyden; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Elton (Betty) Cady of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Chester (Frances) Vande Weerd of Rock Valley; and nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
