William Langstraat
June 20,1933—August 18,1997
William "Bill" John Langstraat, 64, of Hull died on Monday, August 18, at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. He was born to Henry and Wilhelmina (Cleveringa) Langstraat on June 20, 1933, In Rock Valley. On June 23, 1954, he married Marcella Ver Mulm in Rock Valley. He attained the rank of Specialist Three while serving in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. The couple lived and farmed near Rock Valley. They retired and moved to Hull in 1996. He also worked at Tri-State Livestock in Sioux Center.
He was a member of the Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel. Bill enjoyed watching sports on television and playing rook with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Stan Prins of Sioux Center; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three sisters and their husbands, Nelvina and Marion Vander Pol of Sioux Center, Edna and Paul Schelllng of Boyden and Henrietta and Kenneth Farmer of Brunsville; a sister-in-law, Alice Langstraat of Sioux Center; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Fred; one sister, Tracy; and one great granddaughter. Funeral services were Thursday at Carmel Reformed Church, the Rev. Brad Langstraat officiating. Music was provided by Betty Sandbulte, organist, and Gerald and Darlene Van Roekel who sang "On the Wings of a Dove" and "It Is Well With My Soul." Congregational hymns were "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."
Casket bearers were Monty Prins, Joe Ranschau, Henry Langstraat, Chris Mohning, Mark Burmham and Marvin Kaskie. Interment was at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel.
