Ethel Langstraat
Ethel W. Langstraat, 79, of Sioux Center died Sunday, December 20, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were Wednesday at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born October 8, 1913, in rural Hospers, the daughter of William and Minnie (Vos) Kastein. She attended school in the rural Hospers area. On March 11. 1938. she married Case Langstraat of Newkirk, at the home of her parents in rural Hospers.

The couple lived a year in rural Sibley before moving to a farm at Sioux Center. They farmed until his death in 1977. She then moved into Sioux Center and retired into the Homestead in 1985.

She was a member of Central Reformed Church, the Reformed Church Women's Group and the Golden Age Society.

Survivors are two sons and their wives, Henry and Carol of Hull and Clint and Ruth of Cedar Falls; two daughters and their husbands. Marilyn and Frank Kruid of Maurice and Edna and Tim Lawson of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife. Peter and Geneva Kastein of Rock Rapids. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mae Vander Wilt; and a brother, Gerhard Kastein.
