Frank Mast Elliott , 70, of Lake Parks died Friday April 17, at his home in Lake Park after a long illness. Services were at the Westminster Church in Worthington, Minnesota, Monday, April 20, at 11 a.m. Burial was in Ottumwa at 2 p.m. April 21

Elliott was born May 16, 1927 in Ottumwa . He attended school in Ottumwa and graduated from Ottumwa high school in 1946. He served in the occupation of Japan from 1946 to 1947 and fought in Korea with the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1951, receiving the Combat Infantry Badge and two honorable discharges. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1952 and taught agriculture at West Branch from 1952 to 1954. He married Anona Alice Rensink of Boyden of June 12, 1953. He received a bachelor of divinity in 1957 and master’s of sacred theology in 1976 from Dubuque Theological Seminary and the doctorate of ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. In 1984. He was honored as pastor emeritus of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Park in 1997. He served Presbyterian churches in Illinois and Indiana, and served Iowa Churches at Goldfield, George and Lake Park. He also served as interim pastor at Alta and Odebolt and at Round Lake, Minnesota from 1989 to 1991. He worked with his wife in Wee Kirk Conferences for more than 10 years, took high school students on mission tour to New Mexico and Arizona and served short terms with missionaries in Nigeria and Guatemala. His ministry was one of calling and befriending all. He had a compassion for the downtrodden and those in trouble. No one was a stranger in his presence. He enjoyed traveling with his family, reading and canoeing. He and his wife were members of the Worthington Turkey Trotters Square Dance Club. They square dancing in many foreign countries.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Marcia Delle Elliott of Lincoln Nebraska, Charissa and her husband Dan Shaffer of Sanborn, Lila and her husband Les Sybesma of Sioux Center and Francine and her husband Scott Lewison of Emmetsburg; six grandchildren; a brother William Dall Elliott, of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Mary Hickman of McAllen, Texas; mother-in-law, Iva Rensink and her family; any many friends, former parishioners and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson D. and Margaret M. Elliott, and his father-in-law Leonard Rensink.
