Mrs. Ralph Brott, a former resident of Hawarden, passed away at Sergeant Bluff on Tuesday, February 15, shortly after she suffered a stroke. Mrs. Brott had been staying with her parents. Mr. & Mrs. John McCormick in Hawarden, and on Monday of last week she went to Sergeant Bluff to be with her husband, who is employed there. She had barely arrived in Sergeant Bluff when she suffered a stroke. She had been a sufferer of heart trouble for five years.

Her remains were brought to Hawarden and funeral services were held at the Ross Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. and Mrs. F. Panska, of the Pentecostal Church in charge. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Lottie Mable McCormick was born August 17, 1889 at Alcester and was past 54 years of age at the time of her death. She lived in the Alcester vicinity until she was 17 years of age, at which time she came to Hawarden with her parents. She was married to Robert Scott, after which she lived at Fargo, N.D. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Edna Smith of Albert Lea, Minn.

In 1939 she was united in marriage with Ralph Brott of Osage, Iowa, and they lived at Austin, Minn. The first of January they moved to Sergeant Bluff, where Mr. Brott was employed.

Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John McCormick of Hawarden; five sisters, Mrs. Louis Dittmer and Mrs. Ralph McLain of Hawarden; Mrs. Dena Belle Walker of Northville, N.Y.; Ms. Sylva DeRaad of Hollandale, Minn.; and Mrs. Myrtle Akin of Dudley, MO; and four brothers, Al & John McCormick of Chicago, and Jay and Joe McCormick of Los Angeles, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
